This is a 4-letter word that is often abused and misunderstood. By definition, the world tells us that love is a feeling, an intense deep affection or a romantic or sexual attachment to someone. It is a word that is dangerous if not properly understood and acted on.
God gives us a true definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13. He tells us through the teaching of the apostle Paul that love is the most excellent way (1 Cor. 12:31b). Paul describes love as not a feeling or attachment but as a series of characteristics to be demonstrated by a believer. He tells us that love is patient and kind (v. 4). He continues to explain that love rejoices with truth, it always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. He finishes by telling us that love NEVER fails. By contrast, He also describes what love is NOT; He tells us that love is not rude, self-seeking, or easily angered. He also tells us that it does not delight in evil.
When we think about love, we need to ask God to help us to transform our minds so that we can love as He desires. Rather than a feeling, love is a choice. It is the choice to demonstrate patience and kindness. It is the choice to forgive (not keep a record of wrong). It is the choice to rejoice with truth. It is the choice to trust God and have hope. In this way, love will never fail. As such, I want to encourage you all to choose LOVE!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Teach us to love the way you have instructed in Your holy word. Reveal to us any wrong ideas we have accepted about what it means to love. Help us to let go of any habits we have adopted as a result of wrong ideals about love. Show us how to choose love every day in every way. These things we ask in Jesus’ name!
Amen
